The Tango Society of Boston presents
¡ Facundo and Kely Posadas !

“La Milonga” on Saturday, February 20, from 9 pm to 1 am
with live music by the Amarcord Quartet
and special Tango showcase exhibition  by Facundo and Kely!

Facundo and Kely

Kely has danced Tango since the age of 7, when her parents would dance to the “Golden Age” music of the ’40s. Facundo’s Tango roots go back two generations—his great uncle was the author of 40 Tangos, many of them performed by the famous orchestras of Troilo, di Sarli and Salgán. He was dancing Candombe by the age of 3, and was dancing Tango, Milonga and Creole Vals (the mainstream dances of the time) at 13.

Facundo and Kely first danced with each other for six years as teenagers. They were then separated for 30 years by the events of their lives, and were finally reunited in 1991. Dancing was their invisible bond during that time, and they married shortly thereafter. They now own a dance studio in Buenos Aires and are sought after worldwide as Tango dancers and teachers. In addition to Tango, their speciality is Milonga, Vals and Candombe, and we have taken advantage of that exceedingly rare opportunity by presenting more than the usual number of sessions in these other “Tango-family” dances. (The Candombe is an African dance which was fused with the Cuban Habanera to result in the Milonga, which is in turn the predecessor of the Tango!)

Suggested Combinations

If You Are ... You should take ...
Brand new to Argentine Tango Both Tango fundamentals classes (T1+T2). Beginning Milonga (M1) and the Wednesday Tango Waltz (W1) are also recommended for those with some other dance experience (but you should plan on taking T1 & T2 to get the most out of them).
Beginning Argentine Tango dancer All Saturday classes (T1, T2, M1) + Tango Waltz 1 (W1) the following Wednesday. Consider M2 and W2 only if you have taken all the above and feel very comfortable with all the material.
Intermediate Argentine Tango dancer All Saturday and Sunday classes as well as both Waltz classes (W1+W2). Don’t skip the fundamentals (F1+F2)—they can be the most important part of the lessons! T3 will be the most advanced class, so if you are unsure, you may want to skip that.
Advanced Argentine Tango dancer All Saturday and Sunday classes as well as both Waltz classes (W1+W2). We recommend that, to get the most out of the weekend and Facundo and Kely’s particular style, you not skip the fundamentals classes.
Still unsure as to what to take but can take only 1 day Saturday’s classes (solidify the fundamentals and then you can also decide if you want to stay the extra day). Or focus on Tango Waltz and take one or both of the Waltz classes.
* Note that Candombe will be taught at an Intermediate level, but is open to all because of its historical interest and the rare opportunity to learn it.
