TANGHETTO is an Argentine band of contemporary tango. Created by its leader and main vocalist, composer and music producer Max Masri with the premise of contributing something new to tango and to the music of his city, Buenos Aires.

TANGHETTO merges classic tango with sounds of different musical genres, such as jazz, fusion and world music among others. Currently it is the greatest exponent of electrotango from Buenos Aires in the world.

The name TANGHETTO results from the combination of the words "tango" and "ghetto", and was inspired by the Argentine communities of emigrants and exiles, who while living abroad, built small "tango ghettos".

TANGHETTO, both in its powerful live show as well as in studio, combines the sonority of traditional instruments such as bandoneon, drums, violin and piano with synthesizers, samplers and loops.

In 2004, TANGHETTO obtained great success with its first album EMIGRANTE, reaching top sales positions in the record stores chains of the Argentine capital. After a while, EMIGRANTE was awarded with Gold and Platinum Records and received their first Latin Grammy nomination, ccondition that allowed them to start an international career. Since then TANGHETTO has made more than 25 tours through more than 200 cities of Latin America, Europe, Transcaucasia, Canada, the Middle East, Mexico and the United States.

TANGHETTO has played live in prestigious venues such as the Lincoln Center in New York, O2 Arena in London, Milano Forum Di Assago, Symphony Center in Chicago. In Buenos Aires, Argentina, they played in notorious concert halls such as CCK and Usina del Arte, among others. They also played in renowned Festivals like the WOMAD.

TANGHETTO has been awarded with four Gold Discs and two Platinum. They received two Gardel Music Awards and ten consecutive nominations for the most important music awards of the region, including three Latin Grammy.

TANGHETTO regularly collaborates with argentine top artists, such as Pedro Aznar, Amelita Baltar, Leo Garcia, Pipi Piazzolla and Adriana Varela, among others. Their musical versatility allows the band to be part of festivals of Tango, Jazz or World Music, as well as being able to play in theatres and symphonic halls in Argentina and abroad. Currently, after celebrating its 15th anniversary with the new live CD ”Vivo en Buenos Aires - 15 años”,

TANGHETTO continues with performances , and is recording a new album with special guests.

Tanghetto has:
**released seven studio albums (all platinum or gold in Argentina),
**released a live DVD,
**released a double live album,
**released soundtracks
**received great recognition with three Latin Grammy nominations
**three-time winners of the Gardel Award (nominated 6 times in a row since 2009)
